Hate your job? Affirmations for the employed Neuroqueers
Let’s just jump right into it…
Having a job can suck.
There! I said it! And so many of us are thinking it! But, with layoffs are on the rise and the market being in favor of the capitalistic overlords, saying it out loud can feel out of touch.
Those of us who are lucky enough to be employed are holding onto those jobs for dear life because everything just keeps getting so f***ing expensive!
You might not be shocked to hear this, but a lot of people hate their jobs. I’m not here to tell you to practice gratitude. I’m not here to make you feel guilty for not liking your job when so many people are struggling to find one. I’m not here to tell you to make more friends at work so you can commiserate together.
I’m here to tell you - you, the queer neurodivergent human reading this - that it’s okay to hate your job. I give you permission to let yourself feel it. On that note, I’d like to present you with…
✨affirmations for when you hate your job ✨

No job or career is forever - it’s all temporary, for better or for worse
Your job can just be there to fund your best life outside of your job
You don’t have to be passionate about your job
You can hate your job and still be good at it

I know these words may not fix anything, but I hope they make you feel just a little bit better. Revisit them when cracking open your laptop feels like a personal attack. Don’t ever let a job convince you that you are the problem. You’re not. You’re finding your way in a system that needs a real overhaul.
And you won’t be in this place forever 💗.
